Ernest T. Smith, PA-C

Certified Physician Assistant Ernest T. Smith, PA-C joined The ChildHealth Center, PA in 2008.  He earned a degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA.  He was awarded his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry from Winston Salem State University, Winston Salem, NC where he graduated with honors.  Before attending Drexel University, Mr. Smith served as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Winston Salem, NC.  He received his education of Echocardiography from Pitt Community College – Pitt Memorial Hospital, Greenville, NC.  He is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography. He holds other certifications in Basic Life Support, Pediatric Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support.  He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.  He believes that patient education is essential in promoting total well being. His mission is to care for the patients in an outstanding and compassionate way by being genuinely committed to keeping the patients informed about their care, answer all questions, and explain all procedural and treatment aspects.
